The City of Tampere invites the participants of Scandinavian Logic
Symposium 2014 to the Tampere Old City Hall (Tampereen Raatihuone),
which is a neo-renaissance palatial building situated at the edge of
the Tampere Central Square. The Old City Hall was built in 1890 and it
was designed by Georg Schreck.
Address: Keskustori 10 |
Finlayson's factory superintendent Christian Bruun had the Little Palace
built as his private palace in 1897. He ordered the construction drawings
from the architect Fredrik Thesleff. The exterior of the building represents
Neo-Renaissance style.
At the end of the year 1897, Christian Bruun ordered interiors for five rooms in the palace from Louis Sparre who had just founded in Porvoo a factory named Iris producing Jugend (also known as art nouveau) furniture. Today, the main floor and the swimming-pool section of the Little Palace are used as meeting facilities and marketed for conferences, festivities and concerts. Guided tours are organised for visitors. The second floor is the present owner's private apartment. Address: Hämeenpuisto 7 (alternative address: Puuvillatehtaankatu 8) |
